airline tickets France
As a result of its variety of landscapes, climates and atmospheres, France is a favourite holiday destination. For sunny holidays, but also for skiing and city trips. The island of Corsica certainly deserves a visit as well. A visit to France is a genuine culinary delight. The French cuisine is as diverse as the country itself. It has more than 350 kinds of cheese. And the country has a long history of winemaking: from a simple table wine to the very exclusive 'grand cru' and champagne.
Bergerac (Dordogne)
Bergerac is a small town situated in the Aquitane region of the Dordogne department. This area is also known as the Purple Perigord, because of the colour of the wine. This, after all, is the country of the vineyards. The vineyards of Bergerac on the banks of the Dordogne River constitute the largest winegrowing area in the southwest of France - second only to Bordeaux. In addition, no other part of the country has as many castles as the Dordogne, which has approximately a thousand castles.
Calvi (Corsica)
Despite being just 12 kilometres away from Sardinia, Corsica is very French. Napoleon Bonaparte, Corsica’s most famous resident, claimed that he could recognise the island even with his eyes closed. Trees, shrubs and fields are in full bloom in the spring, which makes this wonderful island even more beautiful. The island is quite mountainous, with the Monte Cinto as the highest peak, at more than 2,700 metres.
Grenoble
Grenoble is the capital of the French département of Isère in the Rhône Alpes region. It is located midway between the largest and most well-known French winter sports regions. Winter sports in France mean large and vast pistes that have guaranteed snow. The ski regions of Les Deux Alpes and L’Alpe d’Huez are located one and a half hours away from Grenoble. In addition to these two imposing ski regions, around 150 other ski destinations are accessible from Grenoble at a reasonable distance from the airport. Every day, several transfers depart from the airport and go to the most popular destinations for winter sports at very reasonable prices. In addition to skiing, cross-country skiing and tobogganing, it is definitely worth visiting the cities of Grenoble and Lyon (which is just 85 km away from the airport).
Montpellier
Montpellier is the capital of the Hérault department and the Languedoc-Roussillon region. With almost a quarter of a million inhabitants, this coastal town, situated on the Mediterranean Sea, is also the largest city in this area. In 1088, one of the first European universities was established here. The fact that almost one third of the inhabitants are students shows that Montpellier is still very much a student town.
Nice
The Côte d'Azur lies at France’s most south-eastern point. It is a beautiful region with a blue sea, white beaches, sycamore trees, orange trees and fine historic cities such as Nice. It is well worthwhile investigating Nice. Lose yourself in the old centre’s narrow little streets and discover the atmosphere, the cultural heritage of the city and its fine parks. Life in Nice continues for 24 hours a day. By day on the beach or in the water, at night in the restaurants, casinos and nightclubs. But the French Riviera also has a name to maintain where culture is concerned. After Paris, Nice has the largest number of museums per square kilometre.
Paris-Orly Sud
Along with London, New York and Tokyo, Paris is one of the four largest cities in the world. With its 12 million inhabitants, it therefore is also by far the largest city in Western Europe. The City of Light, as Paris is affectionately called, was originally established on the Île de la Cité, but has since spread out so much that it now also engulfs the towns on the hills in the vicinity. The city is subdivided into twenty districts, which in turn, are subdivided into a total of 81 quarters. Paris is cut in half by the river Seine, along which you will also find many of the places worth seeing.
Pau (Pyrenees)
In a corner of France’s rural south-west lies Pau, the capital of the Béarn region, a bastion of history and culture. The city’s geographical location is unique, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Not only does Pau offer a view of the breathtaking mountain chain – it is also only a few hundred kilometres from the major cities of Bordeaux and Toulouse and even closer to Spain and the Atlantic Ocean. It is an excellent starting point for sunny beaches and snow-covered mountains. In addition, Pau’s fine streets and outstanding restaurants will make sure that you won’t want to leave.

Toulon (Hyères)
Toulon is where you find the real Provence. No loud, garishly painted souvenir shops with fake lavender fragrance, like you find in some of the other towns on the Riviera. Here the people work, think and live the way they have always done in this beautiful coastal area. The old part of the town is located between the train station and the marina. Here you will find many narrow streets, fountains and beautiful town squares.
Currently transavia.com does not offers flights to/from Toulon.
